100% of Club kids who participated in programming and had an attendance rate at/or below 90% in the prior school year, demonstrated an improved attendance rate in the current school year.

61 % of Club grades 4-8, who participated in academic programs during the school year demonstrated growth in reading/language arts and math state assessments

Improving engagement

53% of students who participated in programming during the school year demonstrated an improvement in teacher-reported engagement in learning.

The Club's mission goes beyond its daily programming. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport is a voice for youth- advocating for equity, access and resources to ensure every kid has the opportunity to succeed. We are supported by strong financial stewardship, passionate staff and volunteers and a deep commitment to the communities we serve. We continue to grow our impact and remain a safe place for the kids who need us most.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kingsport, we show our kids and teens that with a focused approach and hard work, they can reach their goals in school and beyond. We strive to provide our club members with a fun, safe and engaging experience every day they are in our care.

Were served to kids and teens in 2025, ensuring no kid went home feeling hungry.

Of real world work experience for our Club teens through our Charles and Hazel Lindsay summer internship program.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America is committed to changing lives. By measuring how much Club kids and teens are achieving, we can determine how effectively the Club experience is helping America’s youth build great futures.

  • 97% of club teens are expected to graduate high school
  • 76% of low-income club members ages 12-18 who attend the Club regularly reported receiving mostly A's and B's, compared to 67% nationally. 


Boys & Girls Club's works hard to create 21st Century leaders in communities

  • 1 in 4 Club teens nationally, volunteer in their community, Club, school or neighborhood at least once a year.
  • 80% of Club members nationally, believe they can make a difference in their community, and 86% feel they can stand up for what they think is right.


Boys & Girls Club kids have opportunities to engage in healthy activities while at Clubs.

  • 53% of Club kids nationally exercise for an hour, five times per week, with up to 34% doing so every day
  • 90% of Club teens nationally have never used cigarettes in their lifetime with 84% never using alcohol.
